This is one disorder that I haven't been labeled with...yet. But I know that it causes a living hell for those that suffer from it.

Even though this disorder has been around for centuries it didn't receive the attention from the medical profession it deserved until the Vietnam War. Many of our men came back from there physically, but their minds brought them back there every day because of this horrible problem. 

PTSD can occur after experiencing or seeing a traumatic event. It isn't just a disorder for those that have been in a military war. It also occurs in those that fight a war in their very own homes, or in their private lives. This hellish disorder makes you relive the events over and over through nightmares and flashbacks. It can hinder a person so severely that they can not function in everyday living.

I say that I haven't been labeled with this disorder yet, but I do have nightmares and flashbacks. I just haven't told the doc yet. I know that with my other disorders nightmares and flashbacks can occur. 

If you have been through a traumatic event and your are experiencing nightmares, flashbacks, having trouble sleeping, please tell your doctor. This is a treatable problem and there is help out there for you.
